Bridgnorth Cycling Club is a friendly, inclusive club made up of both mountain bike riders and road cyclists. We encourage beginners, lapsed, and more experienced riders in either discipline to join our regular rides as a club member.
The club is affiliated to British Cycling, SCCA (Shropshire Cycle Clubs Association) and CTT (Cycling Time Trials).
When we ride…
Road rides set out from Bridgnorth Football Club, Innage Lane at 9:00am each Sunday and include an all important coffee stop.
Distance and speed is set according to ability and we currently have four groups, ensuring no-one is excluded. All groups have a ‘no drop’ policy.
Groups C & D typically ride around 30+ miles at 12-13 mph (C group), with D group riding at a slower pace.
Group B rides are for anyone wanting to ride a bit faster and further and is ideal for anyone starting to train for sportives and other events.
Group A riders cycle furthest and fastest. This group is suitable for regular riders who can maintain a fast pace.
Route details are posted on our Facebook page every Thursday.
Mountain bikers set off from Clee Cycles every Tuesday evening at 6.30pm.
Club members often get together to organise mountain bike rides at weekends and other times, so there are plenty of opportunities to ride locally and further afield.
Again, our Facebook page will provide up to date details of rides each week, so it’s a good idea to check this before you set off.
Join the club
If you’re considering joining the club, but you’re not sure if it’s right for you, we invite you to come along to one of our rides. You don’t need to become a paid up member straightaway, so come along and give it a try first. You can either contact us via Facebook, or simply turn up at a ride and introduce yourself.
We really are a friendly, welcoming bunch. See what one of our members, Sarah, has to say about riding with the club.
Remember, all levels of ability are welcome to come along and we look forward to meeting new riders.
