Road rides

Where possible, we plan our our road rides to avoid main roads as much as possible, preferring to stick to the quieter lanes. Of course, it’s difficult to avoid main roads altogether, so we ask all riders, old and new, to be aware of how to ride safely and to respect other road users. See our top tips for riding safely.

C and D groups ride the same route, allowing beginners and slower riders (D group) to ride at a pace that’s comfortable for them until they are able to keep up with C group. The all important coffee stop allows the groups to meet up and depart for the homeward leg of the ride together.

Routes for A and B groups are planned separately from the C /D route. Details are usually posted on Facebook in advance.

Mountain bike rides

Our mountain bike rides involve riding a variety of terrains, from country lanes to off-road, with Comer Woods being a popular local off-road trail. Tuesday night rides take place every week, all year round. During the winter months we ride in the dark, so it is essential for riders to have decent lights for their bikes.

Club members often organise additional rides, which may involve travelling to trails further afield, such as Llandegla, Cannock Chase and beyond.
